Gothmog was the lieutenant of the Witch-king in the Third Age who originated from Minas Morgul, notably serving at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. During the Battle, Gothmog called the army's reserve out of Osgiliath and into the main battle, bringing forth Easterlings, Southrons, Variags, and his legion of Orcs "into the fray".
