Avar Kriss was a Jedi Master during the time of the High Republic. Noble and selfless, Kriss was an inspiration to many of her fellow Jedi. She served on the Starlight Beacon, a space station on the frontier of the galaxy. Kriss was heavily involved in helping the Republic in the aftermath of the the Great Hyperspace Disaster, when the Legacy Run split apart in hyperspace, causing fragments of the ship to crash through the Hetzal system at incredible speeds. Kriss was eventually given control of Starlight Beacon after it became operational. After helping to put a stop to the Drengir crisis, Kriss helped lead the Republic's response to the Nihil marauders who had caused the Great Hyperspace Disaster in the first place. An intimate friend to Kriss, Elzar Mann was a Jedi Master during the time of the High Republic. A controversial Jedi due to his unorthodox manner of using the Force, Mann remained a Jedi Knight late into his time with the Order in spite of his ability to rediscover abilities that had been forgotten. He also served along with other Jedi during the response to the Great Hyperspace Disaster. Mann was chosen by Kriss to assist her after she was instructed to find the source of the Great Disaster and, as a result of their mission, he was finally promoted to Jedi Master. After receiving a distressing vision of the future, Mann made a pass at Kriss, who refused him as she wanted their past intimacy to remain in the past.
