Saw Gerrera was an Onderonian resistance fighter who fought against the Confederacy of Independent Systems on Onderon during the Clone Wars alongside his sister, Steela. They were instrumental in the rebel liberation of their homeworld during the Onderonian Civil War. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire at the end of the war, Saw became a key member in the fight against the fascist government and the formation of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Saw led a resistance group known as the Partisans, and his tactics during the early rebellion against the Empire led him to be seen as an extremist, causing him to eventually cut ties with Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, and other Rebel cells. Benthic and Edrio were Tognath eggmates and brothers. They shared the nickname "Two Tubes," derived from the breathing apparatus that allowed their physiology to process oxygen atmospheres. Their homeworld Yar Togna was conquered and occupied by the Galactic Empire, forcing them to flee as refugees. Desiring to strike back at the Empire, Benthic allied himself with Enfys Nest's Cloud-Riders and later Edrio and Benthic allied with Saw Gerrera's Partisans.
